Plenty of Southampton supporters have given their backing to Sofiane Boufal, despite his disappointing display against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The 23-year-old arrived at St Mary’s from Lille with plenty of promise after the club forked out a reported £16m fee on him.
Injuries halted the start of his Saints career and he has only started eight Premier League games since his transfer last summer.
Boufal was not named in the first XI against Spurs, but he came off the substitutes bench in the 70th minute.
He failed to create a goalscoring opportunity for his teammates and did not register a single shot on target.
As well as that, the Frenchman almost got involved in a scuffle with opponents Harry Winks and Keiran Trippier.
After the game, some fans tweeted their frustration with Boufal, who has scored two goals in 20 appearances in all competitions.
Others, though, jumped to his defence, insisting that he will come good eventually.
