West Ham had a tough start to the season following a huge summer of change at the Olympic Stadium.
The Hammers were handed tough games against Liverpool and Arsenal in the first few weeks of the season as they struggled to pick up their first win of the season.
Although since then, they have picked up crucial results against Man U and Chelsea, recently, West Ham have once again struggled for form.
They play Man City this weekend and despite it being a daunting sight, Manuel Pellegrini has been given some great news as Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere could return for The Hammers this weekend.
The Breakdown
Carroll is yet to feature for West Ham this season after undergoing ankle surgery over the summer and the news of his return to fitness is a huge plus to the side. He may be fit enough to play the full 90 minutes this weekend but over the next few weeks, Carroll could be a key player to have back.
Wilshere likewise, underwent ankle surgery earlier this season and has not played since the beginning of September.
Aside from Declan Rice, West Ham’s midfield hasn’t been too impressive this season. While he might be injury prone, having the former Arsenal man back in the side is going to add some much-needed quality to Pellegrini’s side.
West Ham need to put together a solid run of form, and if Pellegrini can keep the two players fit, they may very well be able to do that.
