Everton were incredibly active in the transfer market over the summer as new sporting director Marcel Brands brought in six new players.
With Farhad Moshiri now at the club, Everton now have the financial ability to compete in the transfer market. The Toffees splashed the cash on Watford’s young attacker, Richarlison who became the club’s second most expensive signing in their history.
Considering their financial clout, Everton must be looking to target a top-seven finish this season, especially with Marco Silva at the helm.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are interested in signing Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele who is valued at £31.5 million.
The Breakdown
Ndombele has been a star for Lyon this season and has quickly become one of the best young players in Europe.
The powerful midfielder has been so good that he was called into the France senior squad and replaced Paul Pogba in their match against Iceland.
Superb with the ball, Ndombele would be an incredible signing by Everton although they would certainly face competition from a host of European sides.
This season Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes have formed a solid partnership in midfield. The Barcelona man especially has been superb and had his best game for the club against Cardiff City at the weekend.
It remains to be seen whether Everton can keep Gomes on a permanent deal next year and if they can’t retain the services of the former Valencia man, a move for Nodombele would prove to be an incredible signing.
